"I'll never forget the feeling I had when I visited Hobbiton for the first time ... it's a mix of many nostalgic and historical feelings" Elijah Wood
I have always wanted to visit the country where The complete trilogy of The Lord of the Rings was filmed, it was in New Zealand.
Wellington |
The most accessible filming location in Wellington is Mount Victoria, which is located steps from downtown. The wooded areas of the mountain were used to represent the Hobbiton forests, where hobbits hid from the Black Riders. Other filming locations in Wellington are the Hutt River, between Moonshine and Totara Park, which represented the Anduin River; the Harcourt Park, which was transformed into the Gardens of Isengard.
Kaitoke Regional Park |
The Kaitoke Regional Park in Wellington became Rivendell, where Frodo recovered after being stabbed. The road to the exact filming location (a green area surrounded by a native forest) is indicated by signs from the parking lot.
But what about the rest of the country?
People says in blogs and news around the internet, that one powerful reason to visit New Zeland is The Incredibly Diverse and
Unspoiled Scenery, Composed of two main islands and a large number of smaller islands, New Zealand has an unthinkable variety of amazing landscapes, from subtropical forests, beaches and coastal islands in the north to glaciers, lakes, snow-capped mountains and great plains in the north . south. There are also fjords, volcanoes, hot springs and beautiful green pastures, how not to be tempted by them?
What would you like to do there?
If I could live the rest of my life without doing anything, this would be the perfect place for me, but If I can not live there, I would like to visit it many times and get to know this country in its entirety.
